THE EFFECT OF PROJECT-BASED LEARNING ON STUDENTS’ ANALYTICAL THINKING ABILITY AND CREATIVITY AT ENSINO BÁSICO CENTRAL 30 CICLO PALAKA MALIANA

Abstract


This study aimed to examine the effect of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ analytical thinking skills and creativity at EBC 30Ciclo Palaka Maliana. The research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design involving 27 students. Data were collected through creativity and analytical thinking tests administered before and after the implementation of the PjBL model. The findings revealed significant improvements in both variables. Students’ creativity scores increased from a mean of 50.52 in the pretest to 71.44 in the posttest, while analytical thinking scores improved from 48.44 to 71.33. The Shapiro–Wilk test indicated that the data were normally distributed (p > 0.05). Furthermore, the Paired Samples t-Test showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), confirming significant differences between pretest and posttest results. These findings indicate that the PjBL model effectively enhances students’ analytical thinking skills and creativity. Therefore, PjBL is recommended as an alternative learning approach to promote higher-order thinking skills.
